Happy New Year 2024...with Harry Harrison!

Harry Harrison was a radio personality, primarily in New York City, for over 50 years. Harrison is the only disc jockey to be a WMCA "Good Guy", a WABC "All-American", and a personality on WCBS-FM's oldies format. Harrison retired in June 2005. He was known as New York's "Morning Mayor" after having hosted morning drive time through most of his career.  In 1965, he recorded the holiday narration "May You Always", which was released as a single on Amy Records and made the Billboard Christmas singles chart that year. The recording has been a staple and airs every New Year's Eve on the radio station.
Harry Harrison died peacefully on January 28, 2020, at his home in Westwood, New Jersey, at the age of 89.

This is a copy of the WCBS-FM letter that Harry sends out to those who request the lyrics. But, to truly appreciate it, you have to hear Harry read it.

Entering 2022!

Every time we start a new year we hope it'll be better than the one before. This time is no different.
We may have our doubts about the future what with the pandemic still going on and such, but one thing is certain: nothing will stop the march of time so... get on with it, dammit!

ACAPULCO BITES

I spent New Year' Eve in the festive and crowded Acapulco bay, where everything was  fantastic...until a flock of mosquitoes decided to make my body their own private holiday resort.  Back home, I counted more than 100 mosquito bites, strategically scattered all over my anatomy.  But all is well.
Happy 2022!

THE OVERLOOK HOTEL, 1921

I just realized that the year 2021 will mark the 100th anniversary of the July 4th Ball at the Overlook Hotel, seen at the ending of Stanley Kubrick's "The Shining".
I hope I never see a photograph like this one here:

The New Year Black Hole!

Economic uncertainty and Donald Trump taking over the White House are some of the bad omens for 2017, but optimism and lots of good humor are hopefully going to get me through the year!
