VALENTINE'S DAY, 2024!

After many years of singlehood, I think maybe the time has come to replace my Cupid,
whose on target average has been 00.00!

In the meantime, may I wish everyone a Happy Valentine's Day with these great pictures of my favorite blonde, Marilyn Monroe!

THE SHADOW KNOWS...AGAIN!

By the time you reach a certain age and you do not have anyone to share your life with, you realize you're chances of meeting someone are close to nil, so you accept the fact and move on with your existence...
However, the impulse is still there...and the shadow knows!

ME AND MY SHADOW!

The old 1930s THE SHADOW radio show began with the line: "What evil lurks in the hearts of men? The shadow knows!" And my shadow has always been a dead giveaway of my own personal secrets!
The shadows play a crucial part every February 2nd, where Punxsutawney Phil comes out of his hole to take a look at its shadow in what is known as Groundhog Day.
Groundhog Day is a tradition observed in the United States and Canada on February 2 of every year. It derives from the Pennsylvania Dutch superstition that if a groundhog emerges from its burrow on this day and sees its shadow, it will retreat to its den and winter will go on for six more weeks; if it does not see its shadow, spring will arrive early. In 2024, an early spring was predicted.

MAD Magazine's Sergio Aragonés created an entire series of funny cartoons entitled The Shadow Knows and as an homage to him, I've drawn my own shadow fantasies a few times.

Sleeping Positions With A Kid

Whenever I visit my grandchildren, there's always that bonding moment where
you go to bed with one of them. The experience can be somewhat distressing if you
don't know beforehand what this adventure entails.

Happy New Year 2024...with Harry Harrison!

Harry Harrison was a radio personality, primarily in New York City, for over 50 years. Harrison is the only disc jockey to be a WMCA "Good Guy", a WABC "All-American", and a personality on WCBS-FM's oldies format. Harrison retired in June 2005. He was known as New York's "Morning Mayor" after having hosted morning drive time through most of his career.  In 1965, he recorded the holiday narration "May You Always", which was released as a single on Amy Records and made the Billboard Christmas singles chart that year. The recording has been a staple and airs every New Year's Eve on the radio station.
Harry Harrison died peacefully on January 28, 2020, at his home in Westwood, New Jersey, at the age of 89.

This is a copy of the WCBS-FM letter that Harry sends out to those who request the lyrics. But, to truly appreciate it, you have to hear Harry read it.

My Christmas Music Playlist Is At Full Throttle Now!

Every year, I like to play my favorite Yuletide music hits at Christmas time!
Of course to me, the best Christmas music is the one that brings back memories of long ago, when I was a kid waiting for Santa on Christmas Eve. (Yeah, that long ago!)   These are the songs that take me back to those bygone days when the spirit of Christmas was quite different from today,  so you won't find any songs by Michael Bublé, Mariah Carey, Ariana Grande, Christina Aguilera, Kelly Clarkson, Justin Bieber or any of the other current pop stars here!

Now This Is What I Call Christmas!!!!
