THE TWILIGHT ZONE!

THE TWILIGHT ZONE was an anthology tv series created by noted writer Rod Serling and dealt with fantastic stories which almost always featured a surprise and horrifying ending. The original series ran from 1959 to 1964 with a total of 156 episodes. The series quickly became a cult classic and still runs in syndication. It has been revived several times and a feature film produced by Steven Spielberg was released in 1983.
The original series remains the better one and some of my favorite episodes still hold up very well. The Twilight Zone has also been adapted into a series of comic books, the best ones being published by Gold Key Comics during the 60s.
Much has been written about the show and details are easily found everywhere on the Internet so I won't delve too much into them.
All I can say is that October and the Halloween season always seem to be the best time to enjoy these timeless episodes.
So here's remembering Rod Serling and the immortal Twilight Zone!

Mexico's Independence Day

Often confused with Cinco de Mayo by people living in the United States, Mexico’s independence day is actually September 16. The date marks the moment when Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla, a Catholic priest known as Father Hidalgo, made the first cry for independence in 1810. After a moving speech in the Mexican town of Dolores, Hidalgo took up the banner of the Virgin of Guadalupe, a Roman Catholic image of the Virgin Mary as she appears to Juan Diego, an indigenous Mexican believer who was later sainted by the church.

Connery was the first actor to portray the character James Bond in film, starring in seven Bond films between 1962 and 1983. According to Wikipedia: Isadore "Friz" Freleng, often credited as I. Freleng, was an American animator, cartoonist, director, producer, and composer known for his work on the Warner Bros. Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies series of cartoons.
Friz was born on August 21, 1906, and during his long and creative career, he gave us some of the most memorable and lovable cartoon characters ever,  like Tweety Pie, Sylvester the cat, Speedy Gonzales, Yosemite Sam, The Pink Panther, The Inspector and many many more!  Long live Friz!

The last SHARKNADO movie was finally broadcast and it is clear that there has never been a more ridiculous movie franchise ever! But the kids love it and I guess that was the main target audience all along so...mission accomplished!
